This Christmas, we’re excited to bring you a bundle of amazing new features and improvements to your favorite app. It’s time to unwrap the gifts! 🎄

Improvements 🎁

  • We’re excited to introduce a new feature—you can now view logs of the postcodes and addresses entered into the widget. Gain valuable insights into where your customers are placing orders and use this data to expand your delivery area.
  • We are happy to share that our app now supports the ability to draw a specific delivery area on a map! Open up your maps and chart some new delivery zones to delight your customers.
  • You can now edit pickup and delivery settings on the Locations page, even when these options are disabled. Set up your location at your convenience, without needing to enable the options!
  • The wait is over—your calendar can now be configured to start on Monday instead of Sunday. Hooray!
  • Our POS app just got even better with support for custom pickup slots. Give it a try!
  • Shipping and delivery address fields are now visible in the POS app when scheduling an order. This improvement makes it easier to review and confirm order details.
  • More good news—you can now set daily limits for the products in your locations and manage your remaining inventory each day.
  • Previously, the option for customers to leave an order note was only available for delivery. We’ve now extended this feature to pickup and shipping as well! Enable the note setting in your store to improve customer communication.

Bug fixes ☃️

  • We’ve fixed an issue with the POS QR code scanner feature. Previously, if you scanned and then closed the order, you couldn’t scan the same code again until the 'View Orders' tile was exited and reopened. This is now resolved!
  • The issue with adding negative numbers to the pagination limit on the pickup settings page has been resolved.

Week 50 • Draft orders, locations, declining orders and general bug fixes

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

  • There was an issue where adding our app’s attributes to draft orders caused the orders to not load properly. Our developers fixed the bug, and draft orders now work correctly with our app again.
  • We’ve resolved an issue that prevented locations in Cyprus from being saved due to an invalid ‘Region’ field.
  • There was an issue where locations couldn’t be saved if an invalid phone number was added for internal pickup notifications, as the error message didn’t appear. The issue was resolved, and the correct error message will now show if an invalid phone number is entered.
  • We fixed an issue where the default text for the 'Order Ready for Pickup' SMS notification mistakenly mentioned 'email' instead of 'text message.' The notification is now accurate and ready to go.

Zapiet Eats

When declining an order, the app would sometimes freeze and stop loading orders. Our team quickly resolved the issue, and you can now decline orders without any interruptions.

We’ve fixed an issue where the Zapiet logo wasn’t showing on the Support page. Now, the logo is back and displayed consistently throughout the app.

Week 49 • Order export, Text and design and translation bug fixes

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

  • Previously, the payment method field in order exports was empty. This issue has been fixed, and the export file now correctly includes payment method information!
  • The Text and design page had an issue where clicking the ‘Upload custom icons’ button caused a blank page. Our team quickly fixed it, and everything is back to normal.

Zapiet - Rates by Distance

We fixed an issue where bilingual stores could only see one language on the ‘Add rate’ page, making it impossible to translate rates into other languages. Everything is now working as it should!

  • We're excited to announce that you can now configure your custom product groups using tags, product types, and vendors! This new feature gives you more flexibility in organizing your products. Give it a try!
  • There was an issue where custom product group shipping fees couldn't be saved using decimal numbers. This has now been fixed, and you can now add decimal numbers to your rate prices as expected.
  • When enabling the integration with Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery, there was an issue with installing the Carrier service in Shopify. We're happy to report that this issue has now been resolved, and the correct services are properly installed when you enable the Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery integration.

Drawing a delivery area, location import, and general bug fixes

Improvements

  • We are happy to share that our app now supports the ability to draw a specific delivery area on a map! Open up your maps and chart some new delivery zones to delight your customers.
  • No need to manually set up locations you previously configured on another store—you can now import and export your Eats restaurants with ease using our new import location feature!
  • We changed the wording in the Menus from ‘Entrées’ to ‘Main courses’ for better clarity.

Bug fixes

  • We’ve resolved the issue that prevented the creation of restaurant locations in the Philippines.
  • The rates and the checkout page were not being translated into other languages. The issue was resolved, and the app translations are now fully functional.
  • On mobile, the order status wasn’t properly aligned with the rest of the page when viewing orders. This has now been fixed and the order page is now properly aligned!
  • We’ve resolved several widget and inventory issues to improve functionality: the ‘Remaining today’ inventory limit now applies only to the correct day instead of affecting all days in the calendar and re-enabling a product correctly restores its availability in the widget for all days.
  • The issue where custom CSS was not being applied on the store was resolved.
  • Previously, when trying to delete a restaurant, you might have seen a success message even though the restaurant wasn’t actually removed. This issue has been fixed, and restaurants can now be deleted without any trouble.
  • We resolved the issue where products that were marked as sold out could be added through the menu’s quick add button.

Location import, order incrementation, app translation, and checkout widget bug fixes

We squashed a lot of bugs this week! 🐛

  • We fixed an issue with our import location feature that caused a blank screen when initiated. The feature now works as expected.
  • Our integration with Appstle Subscriptions now handles order incrementation correctly. Previously, orders weren’t incrementing as expected, but this has been resolved.
  • The app translations are now fully functional. A previous issue prevented translation into supported languages on certain pages, but this has been swiftly fixed.
  • We fixed an issue with the ‘Add _ZapietId to all items in the cart’ feature that wasn’t working correctly with our checkout widget. It’s now functioning as expected!
  • Previously, draft orders were reducing the order slot limit, and when marked as paid, they were being counted twice. We’ve fixed this issue and now, draft orders will only count towards the limit until they’re paid. Once paid, they’ll convert to regular orders and be accurately reflected in the slot limits.
  • We fixed an issue with our Boxify integration where the HTTP_X_SHOPIFY_SHOP_DOMAIN header was missing from carrier requests.
  • The Order Export to CSV feature now correctly shows the latest Shopify product information. Previously, it was exporting outdated product details.
  • We resolved an issue where shipping date attributes were added to Recharge shipping orders even when the shipping date picker was disabled. The attributes are now only added when the picker is enabled.
  • Some merchants encountered an issue where the app became unresponsive while trying to configure blackout dates. We’ve resolved this problem, and blackout dates are now working correctly.
  • Some merchants previously experienced issues with our Widget API not displaying location hours and blackout dates correctly. We’ve fixed this, and the location information now updates and displays as it should.
  • The maximum radius delivery validation now works seamlessly. Previously, addresses wouldn’t validate under ‘maximum radius’ but would validate under ’maximum driving distance’ with the same value. This inconsistency has been fixed.
  • We fixed an issue where items removed from an order were still appearing in internal email notifications. Now, only the correct order details will be included!

Week 48 • Improved performance, SMS spending limit and conditional activation bug fixes

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

  • There was an issue in the SMS notifications settings where adding a spending limit caused an unexpected error. We’ve quickly resolved this, and the SMS feature is now working correctly.
  • We optimized the loading speed of our admin dashboard and widgets to provide a quicker, more seamless experience for all users.

Zapiet - Product Options

  • Conditional activation settings for hiding and showing options weren’t working as intended. We’ve fixed the issue, and the feature is now functioning as expected!
  • Previously, draft products couldn’t be added to Option Sets. With the app improved, you can now add both active and draft products.

Week 47 • Menu and translation bug fixes

Previously, when trying to delete a menu, you might have seen a success message even though the menu wasn’t actually removed. This issue has been fixed, and menus can now be deleted without any trouble.

Zapiet - Rates by Zip Code

  • When the app was used in other languages, the side menu remained in English. Our developers have fixed the issue, and now the entire app is fully translated into the language of your choice.
  • Merchants using the carrier-calculated rates version of the app encountered an issue where their rates weren’t being translated into other languages. This has now been fixed, and the rates are translated correctly as expected.

Improvements

  • Our POS app just got an exciting upgrade—a QR code scanner! This new feature simplifies managing pickup orders. Scan the QR code to quickly mark orders as picked up and keep everything running smoothly. Give it a try!
  • Previously, when viewing orders on our POS app you could not differentiate between pickup, delivery, and shipping orders. We have now added badges to make this distinction easier.
  • No more uninstalling and reinstalling. If you’re a seasonal business or going on a holiday, you can now pause your Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery subscription!
  • Our Widget API has been significantly improved! It now includes discount codes, delivery notes, address prepopulation, and much more. Explore all the updates in our improved Widget API documentation.
  • We've added a note to the Themes and Checkout pages to clarify that not all themes support displaying our widget in the drawer cart.

We've also squashed some bugs! 🐛

  • Our checkout widget experienced an issue if the locations had product availability set by tags, vendors, or product types. The issue is resolved and the checkout widget now supports all of the product availability methods.
  • We discovered a bug with our rate feature that caused local delivery rates to disappear from Shopify when local delivery was disabled at a location. Additionally, if a location with both store pickup and local delivery enabled was removed, all rates were removed from Shopify. Our developers identified the issue and have successfully fixed it!
  • When duplicating the location, there was a bug that prevented custom pickup slots from being copied to a duplicate location. The issue is now resolved.
  • Previously, when using product availability by tag, collection, type or vendor the wrong error message was shown for unavailable products on the widget. The issue is now resolved and the correct error message now appears if unavailable products are added to the cart.
  • If you were using our Payment Methods feature and downgraded to the Advanced or Essential plan, the payment method still appeared as active even though it wasn’t functional. We've fixed the issue, and payment methods will now only show if you're on the Pro plan, as expected.
  • When restoring attributes from ZapietId, the time attribute was previously restored in the 24-hour format only. This caused issues for merchants using the 12-hour format, such as missing tags and the time not appearing on the order dashboard. We’ve resolved this, and attributes can now be restored as expected in both 24-hour and 12-hour formats.
