GraphQL update and rate issue bug fixes

Improvement

We’ve updated our app to use Shopify’s GraphQL Admin API, which is now Shopify’s preferred technology for building APIs. This shift ensures that our app aligns with Shopify’s latest requirements and moves away from the legacy REST API. By adopting GraphQL, we’re able to provide a more efficient, stable, and future-proof experience for your store.

Bug fixes

  • An issue was identified where rates from disabled zones appeared on the checkout page. This has been resolved, and rates from disabled zones no longer display during checkout.
  • Disabling rates previously left the carrier service visible in Shopify’s shipping and delivery settings. This has now been resolved, and the carrier service is correctly removed when rates are disabled.
  • Our team successfully resolved a temporary issue that was preventing the app from being installed through the Shopify store.

Week 4 • Cart attributes, conditional activation, and general bug fixes

Another productive week is behind us!

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

  • We fixed an issue where cart attributes weren’t cleared when both physical and digital products were added to the cart, but the physical product was later removed. Now, attributes are cleared as expected when only a digital product remains in the cart.
  • Stores using Pickup Only mode experienced an issue where orders were coming in without attributes or tags. This has been resolved, and pickup-only orders are now processed correctly.
  • Previously, our conditional activation feature had trouble recognizing collections with special characters in their names. We're happy to share that this issue has been resolved, and the feature now fully supports special characters.
  • Our Order Status extension previously displayed a leading zero for times in 12-hour format (e.g., 01:23 PM). This issue has been resolved, and times are now displayed correctly without the leading zero.

Zapiet - Rates by Zip Code

We addressed an issue where the app interface failed to load on both desktop and mobile devices for some stores, and rates were not functioning correctly. This has been resolved, and the app is now fully operational and working as expected across all platforms.

Zapiet - Product rates

We fixed an issue where translation keys were mistakenly displayed on the Support page. This has been resolved, and the Support page now shows the correct text.

Week 3 • Notifications and rates bug fixes

We smashed more bugs this week!

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

Previously, the default text for the 'Order ready for pickup' SMS message asked customers to 'bring your email' instead of 'bring your text message.' We've updated the wording, and the SMS messages now display the correct text to avoid any confusion.

Zapiet Eats

There was an issue where the ‘Customer feedback’ email notification wasn’t being sent after an order was placed. Our team has resolved this, and feedback emails are now being sent as expected.

Zapiet - Rates by Zip Code

There was a temporary issue where rates wouldn't work on the checkout page until the merchant reapproved a recurring charge. This has been resolved, and the app is fully operational again.

Week 2 • Staff accounts, email notifications and general app bug fixes

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

  • When the pickup frequency was set to minutes, the ‘Order ready for pickup’ notification incorrectly displayed the pickup time as "between [hour]" (e.g., "between 13:00"). This format was intended for custom pickup frequencies, not for minute-based ones. The issue has now been fixed, and pickup times with minute-based frequencies will correctly display as "at [hour]" (e.g., "at 13:00").
  • On the Locations page, there was an issue on the Essential plan where the 'Pickup order limits' options couldn’t be selected as the plan upgrade pop-up window wasn’t appearing. This has now been resolved, and the upgrade prompt will correctly appear when selecting an order limit setting.

Zapiet Eats

There was an issue where Shopify staff accounts with limited permissions couldn’t view orders, even though the correct permissions were granted. This has now been resolved, and Shopify staff accounts can access orders as expected.

Zapiet - Product rates

There was a temporary issue where the app would become unresponsive and display a blank screen when trying to access it. This has now been fixed, and the app is back to working as expected.

We fixed an issue that caused stores with 30+ collections to experience synchronization problems with our app. Now, all collections are displayed correctly in the app.

We squashed more bugs this week! 🐛

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

  • An issue in non-English stores caused the widget calendar to display only 'Saturday' as the day of the week. We're happy to share that this has been fixed, and the days of the week now appear correctly in the calendar.
  • Previously, custom code to disable dates didn't work with product date restrictions. This issue has been resolved, and the custom code now disables dates as expected!
  • If the fulfilled order was modified and the delivery option was changed, it would result in a blank screen, preventing the order from being reopened. This issue has now been resolved.
  • When using custom-drawn delivery validation, the app didn’t select the closest location. This has now been fixed, and the app will correctly choose the nearest location on the drawn map.

Zapiet - Rates by Zipcode

Merchants using the Carrier Service rate mode encountered an issue where Shopify's backup rate was applied at checkout because our app didn’t return rates quickly enough. We've improved the rate response time for our rates, ensuring the Shopify backup rate no longer appears.

Zapiet - Rates by Distance

The rate calculation and response time graphs on the app dashboard weren’t updating or working correctly. This issue has been resolved, and the graphs now display accurately as expected.

Draft orders support and bundles bug fixes

Great news for restaurants that create lots of draft orders! You can now add Eats attributes directly to your draft orders and manage them in your Eats Orders tab.

Bug fixes

  • Our Bundles feature had a few issues, like the infinity spinner, bundles not displaying products or images, and bundles not being added to the menu. The good news is, our team has fixed everything, and bundles are now working correctly!
  • We’ve fixed an issue where the order creation timestamp was incorrectly showing orders as being created 8 hours in the future.
  • We noticed that the checkout wording configured in the Text and Design settings wasn’t displaying correctly on the checkout page. Our team has resolved the issue, and the wording on the checkout page should now match what you’ve set in the app. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
  • Previously, email notifications were displaying the currency in British pounds (£), even if the store used a different currency. We’ve resolved this issue, and the correct currency now appears in the email notifications.

Improvements 🎁

  • We’re excited to introduce a new feature—you can now view logs of the postcodes and addresses entered into the widget. Gain valuable insights into where your customers are placing orders and use this data to expand your delivery area.
  • We are happy to share that our app now supports the ability to draw a specific delivery area on a map! Open up your maps and chart some new delivery zones to delight your customers.
  • You can now edit pickup and delivery settings on the Locations page, even when these options are disabled. Set up your location at your convenience, without needing to enable the options!
  • The wait is over—your calendar can now be configured to start on Monday instead of Sunday. Hooray!
  • Our POS app just got even better with support for custom pickup slots. Give it a try!
  • Shipping and delivery address fields are now visible in the POS app when scheduling an order. This improvement makes it easier to review and confirm order details.
  • More good news—you can now set daily limits for the products in your locations and manage your remaining inventory each day.
  • Previously, the option for customers to leave an order note was only available for delivery. We’ve now extended this feature to pickup and shipping as well! Enable the note setting in your store to improve customer communication.

Bug fixes ☃️

  • We’ve fixed an issue with the POS QR code scanner feature. Previously, if you scanned and then closed the order, you couldn’t scan the same code again until the 'View Orders' tile was exited and reopened. This is now resolved!
  • The issue with adding negative numbers to the pagination limit on the pickup settings page has been resolved.

Week 50 • Draft orders, locations, declining orders and general bug fixes

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

  • There was an issue where adding our app’s attributes to draft orders caused the orders to not load properly. Our developers fixed the bug, and draft orders now work correctly with our app again.
  • We’ve resolved an issue that prevented locations in Cyprus from being saved due to an invalid ‘Region’ field.
  • There was an issue where locations couldn’t be saved if an invalid phone number was added for internal pickup notifications, as the error message didn’t appear. The issue was resolved, and the correct error message will now show if an invalid phone number is entered.
  • We fixed an issue where the default text for the 'Order Ready for Pickup' SMS notification mistakenly mentioned 'email' instead of 'text message.' The notification is now accurate and ready to go.

Zapiet Eats

When declining an order, the app would sometimes freeze and stop loading orders. Our team quickly resolved the issue, and you can now decline orders without any interruptions.

We’ve fixed an issue where the Zapiet logo wasn’t showing on the Support page. Now, the logo is back and displayed consistently throughout the app.

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

  • Previously, the payment method field in order exports was empty. This issue has been fixed, and the export file now correctly includes payment method information!
  • The Text and design page had an issue where clicking the ‘Upload custom icons’ button caused a blank page. Our team quickly fixed it, and everything is back to normal.

Zapiet - Rates by Distance

We fixed an issue where bilingual stores could only see one language on the ‘Add rate’ page, making it impossible to translate rates into other languages. Everything is now working as it should!
