Improved error messages, languages, translations, distance calculation, and log page bug fixes

Improvements

We’ve improved the error messages that appear when creating a new location in the app. These updates make it easier to understand what’s missing or needs to be corrected, helping streamline the setup process and reduce confusion along the way.

Bug fixes

  • We’ve fixed an issue where newly added languages in your Shopify store weren’t showing up in the app, which made it difficult to create translated rate names. Now, any new languages you add in Shopify should appear in the app without a problem.
  • An issue that prevented saving rate names in secondary languages has been resolved. Rate names can now be saved in both primary and secondary languages as expected.
  • Previously, when using the ‘Straight line’ distance calculation, settings like ‘Avoid highway’, ‘Avoid tolls’, and ‘Avoid ferry’ were still visible—even though they only apply to the ‘Driving route’ method. These extra options are now correctly hidden when ‘Straight line’ method is selected, making the setup cleaner and less confusing.
  • Using the search bar on the Logs page used to clear any active date range filters, making it difficult to combine both. That’s now been fixed and the date filters remain in place when searching, allowing for smoother filtering and search.

  • We’re excited to let you know that you can now offer your customers even more ways to personalize their products with our new color picker option! It’s a simple way to add more flexibility and enhance the shopping experience.
  • Previously, when using the dropdown option with three color choices, only one would show up in the cart and at checkout. This issue has now been fixed—all selected colors are now correctly displayed both in the cart and during checkout.

Week 18 • Automated order exports, address population, rate calculation, and general bug fixes

This week we bring you more interesting updates!

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

  • We’re happy to share that you can now use automated order exports to schedule daily or weekly CSV reports delivered straight to your inbox. Choose specific days, set the delivery time based on your store’s time zone, select which delivery option to include, and customize how often reports are sent. Give it a go!
  • We resolved an issue where local delivery addresses weren’t prepopulating at checkout. This is now working as expected.

Zapiet Eats

  • Previously, when using maximum driving distance for delivery areas, the app incorrectly applied the maximum radius value instead. This has now been fixed, and the correct validation method is being used.
  • There was an issue with the rate estimate feature miscalculating delivery times. It's now been fixed, and the estimates are accurate once again.

Zapiet - Product Options

  • When editing an option from the Option Group tab, the app now shows a warning to let you know that any changes will affect all Option Groups using this option.
  • We resolved an issue where the ‘Add to cart’ button was unlocked before required options were selected, allowing products to be added prematurely. With the fix in place, customers now need to select all required options before adding a product to the cart.
  • We fixed an issue that affected new app installs, where the option name field wasn’t responsive. You can now add option names without any trouble.

Zapiet - Rates by Distance

We’ve optimized the images used in the app, resulting in faster load times and improved performance.

Product date restrictions, widget improvements, bundles, translations, report page, and general bug fixes

Improvements

  • Great news! The app now supports product date restrictions for specific restaurants. This means merchants can keep a single menu and mark certain products as unavailable on specific dates—like during peak seasons when some items aren’t offered. Feel free to give it a try!
  • You can now see the distance from the customer’s current location to the restaurant’s delivery address—right in the widget!
  • The distance shown in the pickup section of the widget is now displayed in black (instead of red) to better match the app’s UI.
  • The app now loads more locations as users scroll through the widget, replacing the previous pagination approach for a smoother browsing experience.
  • Need help? You can now reach our support team faster by clicking the ‘Get Support’ button in the top-right action menu, either in the app or on the Apps and Sales Channel page.

Bug fixes

  • Previously, translated restrictions and allergens weren’t displaying correctly on the online store. That issue has now been fixed, and translations are showing as expected!
  • Bundles are now properly tracked in Today’s Inventory. Previously, set limits weren’t enforced, which allowed customers to add more bundles than were in stock—but that’s now been fixed.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where translation keys were showing instead of proper text when staff accounts without the right permissions accessed certain pages, including order payment status pages. The correct wording now appears as expected.
  • An issue that caused restaurant tags to occasionally not save or delete properly has been fixed. Tags can now be saved and removed as expected!
  • Some stores ran into an issue on the reports page where a blank screen appeared when filtering by a January date range and switching locations. That’s now been fixed, and the report filters are working as expected!
  • There was an issue where the reports page would display incorrect information. Our team investigated the issue and resolved it, so the reports page is now showing the correct data.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where a server error appeared after installing the app and selecting a plan. Installations should now work as expected.

Week 17 • Phone number validation, today’s inventory permission, support widget, and changelog translation keys bug fixes

Merchant Support avatar
Shared by Merchant Support • April 25, 2025

Zapiet Eats

  • Previously, merchants saw a generic “Error creating order” message, which prevented them from completing the order. The issue occurred when phone numbers didn’t pass Shopify’s validation—usually because the country code was added twice. This has now been resolved: if the phone number is entered incorrectly, the widget will reopen with the field highlighted and a clear error message to guide the user.
  • To view ‘Today’s inventory’ users no longer need the ‘Menus’ permission. Previously, both the ‘Manage product inventory’ and ‘Menus’ permissions were required, but this has now been fixed.

Zapiet - Product Options

The support widget inside the app wasn’t showing existing conversations after a page refresh, making it hard to find ongoing chats. This has been fixed, and existing conversations now display correctly in the widget.

Zapiet - Product Rates

When viewing changelogs, translation keys were showing instead of the actual text for the publisher name and changelog title. This has now been fixed, and the correct text is displayed as expected.

Product variants, order pagination, improved locations UI, POS, email notifications, and general bug fixes

Improvements

  • Exciting news! We now support the ability to add product variants to all of the location settings (pickup and delivery) and shipping. You can configure them when setting up product availability—specific product, product date restrictions, or product-specific preparation times. Give it a try!
  • When viewing an order, you can now quickly switch to the previous or next order without leaving the page, making order management smoother and more efficient!
  • No more scrolling through endless product lists when setting up your locations! We've redesigned how product availability, product date restrictions, and product-specific preparation times are displayed. You can now use a handy show/hide button to expand these settings, making the setup process smoother.
  • Merchants with additional locations can now upgrade or downgrade their plan directly from the Subscriptions page without contacting our support. If the new plan has a lower location limit, a pop-up will appear explaining the extra monthly charge per extra location, with an option to confirm and approve the charges.

Bug fixes

  • Previously, duplicating locations would bypass the location limit set by the subscription plan. This has been fixed and location duplication now respects the limits included in your plan.
  • When creating a new location without a postal code, the error message wouldn’t appear if you were further down the page when trying to save. That’s now been fixed—the page will smoothly scroll to the top when the “Add a postal code” message is triggered, so it’s always visible no matter where you are on the page.
  • The ‘View your order’ button did not display correctly in our Out for delivery notification email. This was resolved and the delivery email is now working as expected.
  • Previously, if an order failed to be delivered to a Last Mile Delivery provider due to a 'failed to parse schema' error, no email notification was sent to the merchant. That’s now been fixed—if this error happens, the app will send an email to notify the merchant right away.
  • There was an issue on the POS app where, after applying multiple filters, it was no longer possible to exit the tile without going back through each filter. The issue has been resolved, and it’s now possible to exit the tile with a single click.

More lovely updates coming your way this week! 🎉

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

  • Our Checkout delivery options widget now supports pickup in addition to delivery and shipping. This gives your customers more flexibility when choosing how they'd like to receive their order. You can learn more in our Checkout widget article.
  • We’re happy to share that you can now filter your orders using order tags—making it more convenient to locate specific orders. This new feature is also available on our POS app, so you can enjoy the same flexibility on the go. Give it a try!
  • Previously, the “More information” pop-up showed incorrect pickup hours due to an issue with the “Opening and closing times are the same as pickup times” setting. That’s now been fixed, and the correct pickup hours are displayed as expected.

Zapiet Eats

  • App tiles were temporarily unavailable on the POS app due to an outdated version of the POS UI extension. The app has since been updated, and the POS integration is working smoothly again.
  • There was an issue with product names being incorrectly displayed in today’s inventory. Our team swiftly resolved the issue, and the correct product names are now showing as expected.

Zapiet - Product Options

The support widget inside the app wasn’t showing existing conversations after a page was refreshed, making it hard to find ongoing chats. This has been fixed, and existing conversations now display correctly in the widget.

Zapiet - Rates by Distance

We’ve made some behind-the-scenes improvements to speed up how quickly your delivery rates are calculated and displayed at checkout. By optimizing performance, we’ve reduced the response times, meaning even during peak traffic, your rates will load more reliably and faster than before.

Zapiet - Rates by Zip Code just got a little code love! 🧡

Improvements

  • We’re happy to share that merchants using Shopify Function rates can now translate them into the other languages available in their store, thanks to a new setting that enables rate translation.
  • Zone creation just got easier—rates can now be added right after creating a zone, without needing to save and reopen it. It’s a quicker and more seamless experience.
  • Zip code matching descriptions on the Settings page are now clearer, making it easier to understand how each method works.

Bug fixes

  • Typing in the Zones and rates search field would refresh the results after each letter, causing visual issues. This has been fixed, and the search now works smoothly.
  • An issue that caused a blank page to appear when creating a new zone with Carrier-calculated shipping rates has been fixed. New zones can now be created without any trouble.

Week 15 • Checkout widget, POS app, locations, and general bug fixes

Merchant Support avatar
Shared by Merchant Support • April 11, 2025

This week, we tackled even more bugs! 🐛

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

  • We resolved the issue where orders created through the checkout widget didn’t follow the product-specific preparation times set in the app. These preparation times are now working as expected.
  • We fixed an issue where the checkout widget didn’t display properly when using products created by the ‘Combined Listings’ app. It now displays correctly with those products.
  • An issue that caused the checkout widget to display incorrectly on mobile devices in some stores has been fixed. The widget now appears properly on mobile.
  • When working on stores with more than 10 locations, navigating to the next location page, opening a location, and then going back would sometimes reset the view to the first location page. This issue has been resolved to make managing locations more seamless.
  • For some merchants, mainly in the USA, adding today’s date as a blackout date caused it to appear under ‘Past dates’ instead of the current section. This has been fixed, and today’s date now shows in the correct section.
  • The help article link for ‘Technical limitations’ under the ‘Limit number of delivery orders per day’ feature in the Local Delivery section was pointing to the wrong article. This has been fixed, and the correct article now opens as expected.
  • The widget became unresponsive in certain cases—specifically when a product was limited to today only, the store was visited after the last pickup slot, and pickup order limits were turned on. This issue has been resolved, and the widget now works as expected in these situations.

Zapiet Eats

There was an issue with the ‘Tag items based on menu section’ setting on the Text and Design page that caused the save button to become unresponsive and appear greyed out. This has been fixed, and the save button is working properly again.

Zapiet - Product Options

App tiles were temporarily unavailable on the POS app due to an outdated version of the POS UI extension. The app has since been updated, and the POS integration is working smoothly again.

Zapiet - Product rates

We’ve improved how shipping rates behave when the app is reinstalled. Now, rates will be disabled by default, and the carrier won’t be automatically added to Shopify. Instead, when opening the app, a pop-up will appear giving merchants the option to either review their rates before enabling them or activate them right away.

This week, we have even more exciting updates to share! 🚀

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery

  • There was an issue where Shopify's carrier-calculated delivery rates wouldn’t load in the checkout widget if the delivery note was set as required—rates only appeared after a note was added. This has now been fixed, and rates load as expected.
  • The checkout widget wasn’t fully translated, with some parts still appearing in English. This has now been fixed, and the widget is fully displayed in the selected language.
  • Our team fixed the issue where the Order Status widget wasn't properly translating into German and Danish when using translation apps like Translate and Adapt. The translations are now working correctly.
  • There was an issue where newly created languages within the app wouldn't show after creation. This has been resolved, and new languages you create will now be displayed as expected.

Zapiet Eats

  • We're excited to share that you can now see the distance from the customer's current location to the restaurant pickup spots, right in the widget. Check it out!
  • Previously, an issue with automatic discount codes was preventing orders from being created and blocking checkout. This has now been fixed, and automatic discount codes work as expected.
